National symbol is formal symbol in the country.

such as a flag, a flower.

 

By using it, 

the country represents itself to the other counties.

 

태극기 is a notioanl flag of south korea.

It was made by an order of king 고종 in 1882.

Then it was first used in the Japan.

It was also used in the March 1st movement during the japanese colonial period.

 

태극기 has a white background, means pure and peace.

 

And there is a circle in the center. called 태극.

태극 refers to the origin universe.

 

It also have 4 trigrams in each corner.

They refer to sky, ground, water and fire.

 

애국가 is national anthem in south korea.

The lyrics was written in 1907.

The song was composed 1935 by composor 안익태.

This song inspires Independence and patriotism.

애국가 has been used offially since 1948.

 

무궁화 is a national flower in south korea.

무궁화 is type of the rose of sharon hibicus.

The word 무궁화 means to bloom forever

The ancient Silla kingdom was called a country of 무궁화.

And it appers in the lyrics of the national anthem. 

and it is used in the court mark. 

고대국가 신라는 무궁화의 나라로 불렸다
