Tongdosa is one of Korea’s beautiful mountain temples,

located in Yangsan in the southeastern part of the country.

 

It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

for its importance in Buddhism.

 

Tongdosa is also one of the Three Jewel Temples,

representing the Buddha himself.

 

Tongdosa is home to the relics of the Buddha, including his bones and robe.

Because of this, there is no Buddha statue in the main hall, as the relics take its place.

 

Due to its significance, many foreign monks and Buddhists from around the world visit Tongdosa

to see these relics.

And they also experience the peaceful atmosphere of this mountain temple.
