Baekje was located in the southwestern part of the Korean Peninsula. 
Baekje existed from the 1st century BCE. to the 7th century BC. 

Under the rule of King Geunchogo in the 4th century, 

Baekje expanded its territory and developed its culture.
During this period, Baekje occupied the Han River and made significant cultural and scientific developments.
Baekje's Buddhist culture was so developed that it spread to Japan. 
It has also made great strides in astronomy. 
Today, Baekje's historic district is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Baekje's historical and cultural achievements are a big part of Korea's heritage today.
