Jirisan was the first national park to be designated in 1967, and there are currently 23 of these wonderful parks across the country.
They are divided into three lovely categories:

mountainous (18), marine and coastal (4), and historic (1).
These amazing parks cover 6,888 km², which is 6.8% of our country's total land area.

They're home to 40.9% of South Korea's biodiversity, including many endangered species.

There are also lots of cultural treasures to discover, including national treasures and treasures.

Around 38 million people visit each year.
