온돌은 수세기 동안 사용되어 온 한국의 전통 주택난방시스템으로 한국의 전통 문화유산입니다. 

"온돌"이라는 단어는 문자 그대로 "따뜻한 돌"을 의미하며 추운 겨울에 집을 따뜻하게 유지하는 난방방식의 종류입니다.
이 시스템은 일반적으로 주방에 위치한 agungi를 통해 방바닥을 가열하는 방식으로 작동합니다. 
불이 붙으면 열과 연기가 방 바닥 아래의 통로를 통과하여 chimney를 통해 빠져나갑니다. 

이 방법을 사용하면 열이 바닥 전체를 효율적으로 데울 수 있므여, 공기가 연기로 부터 오염되지 않아 방안의 공기를 쾌적하게 유지할 수 있습니다. 

오랜 세월 온돌은 한국인들이 추운 겨울을 지내는데 매우 중요한 역할을 했습니다. 
오늘날에도 한국의 현대 가정에서는 **온돌에서 영감을 받은 바닥 난방** 시스템을 사용합니다.

that has been used for centuries to keep homes warm during the cold winter months.

 

The word "ondol" means "warm stone," and it refers to a unique heating method.

The system works by heating the floor through an agungi, or fireplace, usually located in the kitchen.

When a fire is lit, heat and smoke travel through passages beneath the floor, eventually escaping through a chimney.

 

This method efficiently warms the entire floor while keeping the room’s air clean,

as the smoke doesn’t enter the living space.

 

For many years, ondol has played an essential role in helping Koreans stay warm through harsh winters.

Even today, modern Korean homes use floor heating systems inspired by ondol, showing its lasting influence.
